Welcome to the
world of oil well drilling
The Rig-Site Drilling Club is
not a company run club nor is it supported by oil and
drilling companies, it is a peoples club, an oil people club,
that's right the people that actually do the work, the guys
in the field, the people that recommend the tools and
equipment that will be used on the well and the same people
that often make a out the purchase orders.
Formed in 1997 by a few die hard's the club was used to pass
information between rigs and as a problem solving exercise,
up until January 2002 the club kept a low profile, but with
so many drilling related company starting to work behind
closed doors and denying people accesses to the much needed
information the club open it doors to the drilling community
by forming an open discussion group (The Drillers Club) from
a humble 2000 pages read a month by 20 or so member the
numbers shot up to the present figure of around 145,000 pages
being read by 46,000 visits a month with a membership that
covers the world.
The club dose not distinguish between members, nor dose it
ask them to identify themselves, only to abide by a few
common sense rule, such as keep the swearing to a minimum
using the ?*@ where appropriate and not claming the copy
right of other people materials.
Such an open policy has allowed the club to gain accesses to
a lot of information and is now linked into over 50,000
industrial standards and procedure vie the book shop. We now
have possibly the most powerful technical manual search
engine on the net.
Of course the manuals are not free, and pay a small
commission per sale, this is put towards keeping the club
afloat, we also have an international shop (some what larger
than the average) that helps to pay the bills.
The club is free to join and dose not ask people to sign in,
membership is initially voluntary but dose have a few
advantages such as an internal mail system that allows
members to talk between themselves without having to put up
with a lot of spam or advertising, The system is used
constantly between family member while hubby is out at work.
We also have our own job positing group where members post
work found in their travels this work is often posted on to
the members should they be looking (just a word of warning,
do not become a member if you do not want to receive the club
mail)
The club is constantly expending daily as more questions,
answers and information is automatically stored in the
massive data base such information is free to all unless it
is gained from links to other site, in that case you will
have to ask the authors permission.
My name is Leonard T. Roe (Drilling & Workover) and this is
our club, you are invited to join at no cost, we have some
very knowledgeable members from all sectors of the industry
most will be willing to help with your question but we do not
tolerate fools. (you are for warned)
